According to Gar Warner, the Chicago Tribune's travel journalist, the Bergensbanen Train is is the best in the world. It connects Oslo and the coastal town of Bergen in what is called the Roof of Norway.

While not the longest train route, it is the highest main line rail route between two cities in Europe. According to Mr. Warner, the spur line from Myrdal to Flåm is breathtaking and scenic.
We think that the Bergensbanen Train is an idea way to see Norway's famous fjords which were rated very highly by National Geographic. The fjords are one of the least traveled and pristine settings that you will find. The entire trip from Oslo to Bergen takes a little over 6.5 hours.
Most tourists only stop in Oslo which is Norway's capital. If you take the Bengensbanen Train, you'll have a wonderful way to explore the fjords at and Bergen, a town of 210,000 people. Bergen was also named a world heritage city.
