Millennial Living- the Alternative to HGTV ®

Have you been Phished lately?

Most of us have heard about phishing (pronounced like "fishing"). It's when someone is trying to obtain personal information about you to steal your identity. Things like a credit card number, password or social security card number.

You may think that phishing is only restricted to the Internet. However, you're also vulnerable at home, at work and even when you are shopping.

For some very concrete and obvious examples of phishing, see the Federal Trade Commission's phising video at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/multimedia/video/ogol/phishing/index.shtml.

Also see the article on preventing identity theft at http://www.millennialliving.com/E-gov/identity-theft-prevention.htm.

Feel free to provide some personal examples of how you were phished and what you did about it.
